Over the years Loveny has had a number of Directors of Music. One in particular had a major effect on the choir. Nick Hart joined the embryo Loveny as a 1st.Tenor and his talents soon became obvious, when the opportunity arose he became Director of Music.
Nick remained in this position for 17 years and under his guidance the choir grew both in reputation and numerically and on three occasions were Cornish Champions.
Loveny currently has thirty four members and is an exciting choir both to belong to and to listen to. It has built up an enviable reputation, not only throughout Devon and Cornwall but in places far afield such as Wales, Brittany, Germany, Holland, Malta, and the Czech Republic.
The choir has a repertoire that is wide and varied , in addition to standard male voice choir music it includes songs that are humorous, songs that written exclusively for Loveny and songs from around he world.
